Two 8-Car Shootout:
The winner of the PRO-X/PRO shootout will be invited to Scottsdale for the Duel in the Desert. If the winner has already received an invite, it will go to the runner-up. If both have received or decline the invite, no one will be invited. The winner of the SM/TR/HR shootout will get an invite to Scottsdale for the Duel in the Desert. If the winner has already received an invite, it will go to the runner-up. If both have received or declined the invite, no one will be invited.
National event shootout points will be earned from the top finishers, 1st- 8 points, 2nd- 4 points, 3rd- 2 points and 4th- 1 point. Points will be added to your total from each shootout (except the Duel in the Desert and the Sponsor Shootout).
At the Pleasanton events the points will be earned from the top finishers, 1st- 6 points, 2nd- 3 points, 3rd- 2 points and 4th- 1 point. Points will be added to your total from each shootout (except the Duel in the Desert and the Sponsor Shootout).
If you start in Street Machine, Truck or Hot Rod and you get up to 30 combined points or three wins, you will move up to PRO. You could still win SM, HR or TR and become the Class Champion for the year. If you start the season in PRO you can only be the class champion for the PRO class and not SM, HR or TR. If you are in the PRO class Goodguys has the right to move you to PRO-X if they see fit. All classes will receive points for the year if you are one of the 32 cars in the Duel in the Desert Shootout in Scottsdale AZ. A points payout will be determined.
PRO & PRO-X Class:
In addition to the Pro Class we have added a new PRO-X class. PRO-X class will consist of vehicles that won a shootout in 2018 and the top sixteen cars in the 2018 “Duel in the Desert” Shootout Scottsdale Fall Event.
AutoCrosser of the Year:
Must compete in a minimum of three event shootouts during the 2019 season not including the Sponsor Shootout or Duel in the Desert Shootout. Be within the top sixteen points for your class. And the highest winner of the Duel in the Desert Shootout that meets all of these requirements.

Cone Penalty Diagram
If racing a two-lap track and you hit a cone on your first lap you must drive around the chalk box on the next lap to not get another 2 second penalty. The chalk box becomes the cone on the second lap no matter where the cone is located as the cone is out and considered a dead cone.

Format for the events:
Each National event will have class winners from qualifying Friday and Saturday until 3pm. Sessions will start with PRO-X, PRO, TR, SM and HR so everyone gets the same amount of runs each day. At 3pm, class winners will be announced to set the two 8-car ladders from the quickest overall times in qualifying and 16 cars and drivers will make up the shootout. Four PRO-X and four PRO make up one Shootout and four SM, two TR and two HR will make the other. If a class does not have 8 entries to fill the field, cars will be added from the other class to get an 8-car field for each shootout.

Season Pass:
The 32 drivers that compete in the Duel in the Desert Shootout in Scottsdale AZ, the Class Champions and the Sponsors of the AutoCross will receive a season pass good for one car entry and two weekend passes at each event they attend during the following season.

Duel in the Desert Shootout:
Goodguys 2019 AutoCross Duel in the Desert will take place at the 22nd Southwest Nationals in Scottsdale, AZ on November 15 & 16, 2019. There will be 32 vehicles and drivers.
Friday entries into the shootout run with everyone trying to race their way into the finals.
Saturday the fastest 32 cars move onto the qualifying and set the 32-car field.
Saturday at 11am, 32 cars will get one qualifying run before lunch and one at 1pm. This will set the ladder for the finals shootout.
The Shootout will have a PAX time deducted for each class. Example (Pro-X runs 60 seconds and the fastest PRO runs 62 seconds the whole PRO class will get a 1 second deduction from their time in the shootout and the fastest SM runs a 65 the whole SM class will get a 2 second deduction from their time in the shootout)
Saturday at 2pm eliminations will start from the bottom of the 32-car ladder. There will be a run off after the fourth round to decide 3rd and 4th place. At the end of the day we will have the winner of the Goodguys “Duel in the Desert” AutoCross.

Sponsors will also provide gift certificates.
Snap-On Tool Box if the winner is the AutoCrosser of the Year along with flooring from RaceDeck.
The 32 Drivers and the Class winners will receive a Goodguys AutoCross Jacket.
